Weekend Wrap Up

Friday afternoon we found out that underwriting would not adjust our appraised value even with all the new information (apparently even though the appraiser didn't use the best comps or best information, he was technically within guidelines. i know. i don't get it either). So, we didn't get the value we wanted but we'll be able to reimburse most of our renovation costs and we'll just have to pay for the remaining renovations the old fashioned way. Pay as you go? That's crazy! ;)

Saturday was my first race of the year, a 10K put on by a local elementary school to raise money. I woke up to gray skies and ran for the next hour in the pouring rain. The bonus of this was that I never got hot. We've had a very mild winter and the rain was warm, so I never got cold either. The downside was all the puddles, the mud, not being able to easily see at some times. Overall, it was really fun.

Saturday afternoon we took advantage of the wet weather and stayed indoors! Lunch at our fave chinese place, a stroll through a fantastic art gallery (where we followed a couple buying pieces for their home "dear, this piece has the coloring you want. we could hang it in the foyer" - price tag: $9800. what about this vase for the dining room table? price tag: $8000.) and a matinee movie (MI4 - seen entirely because we watched the filming in Prague. The scene we watched being filmed for 90 minutes was only about 2 minutes in the movie. Still worth it.) :)

Sunday we slept in until 10:30. We used to feel lazy for sleeping in so much until we found a way to rationalize it. We're simply getting all our sleeping in out of the way before we have kids. That same reasoning should entice me to nap more.

How were your weekends? Anyone celebrate any milestones? Go on any dates? See any good movies? Watched the 3rd episode of Downton Abbey? (i know what i'm doing on my lunch break today!)

Happy Monday!

that totally sucks that they won't adjust the appraisal. I'm sorry!

It was an eventful weekend! Went on a date Friday and had a game night Saturday. But, I'm more looking forward to this weekend (a date with a new guy!).

yay for your first 10k of 2012!

we're guilty of sleeping in as well. it's hard in the winter! it's so dark and cold outside the bed. :)
