New appraisal (needed in order to refi) is next week, so Jon is finishing up small details and other not-so-small details (stair treads). This doesn't mean that next week we're done with renovations. Far from it actually. It just means that we'll be able to pull out money to cover the costs of the renovations so far and that major construction projects are done. From here, we'll still need to scrape and fix the plaster walls & ceilings in the dining room, living room, bedrooms and hallway; strip and paint all original trim & doors; add insulation to the attic; replace the remaining old windows; replace the rotting front porch; paint the entire exterior; regrade the driveway; tear down the carport; build a new garage; install a patio off the new basement family room; cut down a bunch of dead trees; plant some grass....you get the point. We'll be working on this house for a looooong time.
kitchen light fixture is up
downstairs bathroom
so excited to use the tub and have a second toilet
downstairs hallway to show you the black doors
i am in love with them!
mudroom w. stairs to basement
the tiny door is our new coat closet
main floor bathroom with vanity (drawers will be built for the left side)
mirror will be hung & eventually framed
The good news is that now with major construction done, Jon can focus on
other clients (paying clients!) and work on our house as he has time.
The house is looking great, I can't believe what we started with only 6
months ago!
