How did you spend your new year's eve? perhaps you spent it like me? curled up on the couch under blankets, coughing until your throat is raw and then blowing your nose when the clock struck midnight? No? You partied? Oh, well, that sounds fun, too.

Last night it snowed and dropped down to 18 degrees. Combine that with my sicks lungs and you better believe I won't be running today. The dusting of snow is kind of pretty, though I was secretly hoping for enough to blanket everything in white.

I took down all the Christmas decorations yesterday since I had the day off. I had expected to be a little sad to lose all those twinkling lights but it felt surprisingly good to have clear tabletops and counters again. I'm not one for knick knacks and clutter so Christmas decorating is a bit outside my normal comfort zone.

I still have yet to receive the holiday cards I ordered the week before Christmas. Tracked my shipment to find that they were delivered to our old house in Charlotte even though I had clearly marked "ship to billing address" on the instructions. Damn you, Apple! Luckily I have the new owner's email and family that still lives close enough to pick them up. At this rate, everyone should get their holiday cards around February. Good thing I chose a "happy new year" theme - that should buy me a few weeks of relevance.

We refinance in two weeks and I'm so glad for that. It doesn't necessarily mean we'll have money again (the list of things to be done to this place is quite long), but at least I won't be paying 15% interest on drywall and new toilets.

Overall life is good. How are things shaping up in your world so far this year?

I'm sorry you are sick! That's no fun. I spent my New Years at a very exciting Young Single Adult dance. Haha. Now it's off for one more week before school starts...yippee :0

Sorry you're sick! S is too. Have to say, this year is kicking our asses so far. It's only been 4 days though so I'm not willing to give up on 2012 just yet.
