Read all the books I've purchased over the years (and still have yet to read) before buying any new ones. - I have at least a dozen books that I've bought with the intention of reading and then just never gotten around to it. With only one bookshelf in the house now, space is at a premium!
Run in 6 races - this should be a gimme since I've already registered for them. :)
Build up a 6-month food storage supply - we finally have a proper storage space in this house and with so much access to great food in season, I really want to build up our food supply with essentials (rice, beans, veggies, grains, water, etc).
Plant a garden - now that we have no plans to move, we can finally establish and start cultivating a garden spot. And hopefully not procrastinate so we can start early and plant from seed!
Learn how to can - directly related to the food storage goal and hopefully a good way to use up all our future homegrown veggies.
Make a quilt - I've pinned about a dozen ideas, I just need to find the motivation to actually do one.
Start piano lessons - I have wanted to learn the piano for years and years. Fortunately, Asheville has lots of musicians willing to share their talents.
Brush up on my French - I took French lessons for 7 years and then promptly never spoke it again. I'd love to be fluent and I think 2012 is the year - especially as my work is now offering to pay for Rosetta Stone software so we can expand my territory into Quebec.
There you have it - goals that will require effort but aren't impossible. Do you make resolutions? I'd love to hear yours! Leave them or link to them in the comments.
Happy New Year everyone!

great resolutions! i love reading people's goals for the new year. i took spanish and i always think about brushing up- maybe next time!
i posted my goals today- looks like we'll both have a musical 2012! or, you know, try. i have low expectations for myself haha.
My two goals (so far) for the year:
-Be in significantly better shape this time next year.
-Study out of the scriptures every day.
And I'm feeling good about it so far. Zach and I just finished our new, fun workout routine that we plan on doing every night (or most nights...). I'm so excited to be skinny again I can hardly stand it.
I'm sure I'll tack on a few more goals at some point. Although 2 may be all I can handle. ;)
Ah, you're speaking my language!
I love this blog for food storage: http://preparedldsfamily.blogspot.com/2012/01/how-to-use-my-monthly-food-storage.html
And Food Storage Made Easy.net has got both checklists and spread sheets for a 3 month supply and a year's supply.
Also, Every Day Food Storage has a ton of recipes, but I don't know how they'd jive with your chosen diet.
Happy storing!
